Planning a trip to Seoul? One of the biggest challenges for international travelers has always been navigating the city's complex—albeit efficient—public transportation system. While the standard T-money card is great, frequent travelers often worry about balance refills and incremental costs.
Exciting news for 2026: The Seoul Metropolitan Government has officially launched the Tourist Climate Card, a short-term unlimited pass that is about to become your best friend in Seoul. As a certified guide who helps hundreds of visitors navigate this city, I can confidently say this is the most cost-effective way to explore Seoul today.

What is the Tourist Climate Card? Previously, the "Climate Card" was primarily for residents with a monthly subscription. Now, visitors can choose from several short-term options depending on their itinerary:
1-Day Pass: 5,000 KRW
2-Day Pass: 8,000 KRW
3-Day Pass: 10,000 KRW
5-Day Pass: 15,000 KRW
7-Day Pass: 20,000 KRW
For less than the price of a single fancy latte, you get unlimited rides on Seoul’s subway lines (1-9, plus various other lines within Seoul) and all Seoul city buses.
Why is this better than a standard T-money card?
Predictable Spending: You pay once and never worry about your balance for the duration of your pass.
Infinite Transfers: Whether you take the wrong bus or decide to hop off at an extra stop to explore a hidden alley, there’s no extra charge.
Airport Railroad Inclusion: It covers the Seoul section of the Airport Railroad, making your initial journey into the city much smoother.

Pro Tips from Your Guide
Where to Buy: You can purchase the physical card at Information Centers in major subway stations (like Seoul Station, Myeongdong, and Hongdae) or at the Seoul Tourism Plaza. You can also use the "Mobile T-money" app if you have an Android phone with NFC capabilities.
Ttareungi (Seoul’s Public Bike): For an extra 1,000 KRW, you can often add unlimited bike usage to your pass, perfect for a sunset ride along the Han River.
The Catch: Remember that this card is specifically for Seoul. If you are taking a bus or subway deep into Gyeonggi-do (like Nami Island or Everland), you might need a secondary T-money card for the portions outside the Seoul boundary.
